Whether you are in school or college or you work in an office, you have to work in group. And since in a group, it is just not your individual success that is important, communication is very important. Task groups ensure that even if you are individually working on one part, you are responsible for the whole team’s success. Proper Communication is the key word in Task Groups

You have to make yourself intelligible to the other team mates. Whether you are the team captain or not, communication that is polite but firm is the key skill. If you know your job well, do not let others decide everything for you. But at the same time, be compromising and be polite to others. If you do not speak to others, your ideas or your problems will never get reflected and will never come to the forefront of the task group.

Discuss and Divide

Whether you are the leader or not, do not try to impose your decision on others. Before dividing the work and assigning work to each and individual, first listen to the other team mates. If any issue gets amicably solved, do not try to impose authority on others. Use your discretion, if you are the leader, only if a matter cannot be solved through amicable means.

Adjust and Achieve your Task Group Goal

There is no scope of being obstinate and adamant when you are working in a task group. Even if you have personal problems with any of your team mates, do not let it hamper your professional goals. Learn to adjust because your goal involves the entire task group. If you get into a conflict with others, it is the loss for your team’s success.
